The Center for Operations Research University Institute of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche launches his PhD Program in Statistics, Optimization and Applied Mathematics in this academic year 2013-14 .
This PhD program is oriented to the training of scientists and researchers in the analysis and processing of the data and information to carry out the optimization of complex systems using the more advanced techinques in Statistics, Operations Research and Mathematical Modelling . These researchers will join the industries of the immediate environment (shoes , textiles, toys, furniture , agricultural, etc.), as well as other industries or service companies, both in Spain and in the rest of the world.
The PhD program will comprise two main research lines: a) Statistics and Optimization and b) Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Programming.

Este programa de doctorado está orientado a la formación de científicos e investigadores con capacidad de análisis y de tratamiento de la información y los datos para llevar a cabo la optimización de sistemas complejos, utilizando las técnicas más avanzadas de la Estadística, la Investigación Operativa y la Modelización Matemática. Estos investigadores podrán incorporarse al tejido industrial del entorno más próximo (calzado, textil, juguetes, muebles, agrícola, etc.), así como en otros sectores industriales o de servicios, tanto en España como en el resto del mundo.
El programa de doctorado constará de dos líneas de investigación: a) Estadística y Optimización y b) Matemática Aplicada y Programación Matemática.
