El CIO organiza el 13 Congreso Internacional INTERACCION 2012

The Center of Operations Research (CIO) hosts from 3 to 5 October the «13th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction» (Interacción’12), to be held at The Science and Business Park, located in the Quorum I building of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH). This meeting welcomes more than 60 researchers who will present works of 208 authors from 13 countries: Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Jordan, Mexico, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Venezuela and Spain.
Researchers have sent to this Conference 81 works in various modalities, and only 57 have been selected to be presented in the different specialties of Human Computer Interaction (HCI), such as Evaluation of Interactive Systems, Distributed User Interfaces, Social Networks, Health and Interaction, Collaborative Systems, Accessibility for people with disabilities or Virtual and Augmented Reality.
The conference is organized by The University Research Institute “Center of Operations Research” (CIO) and has the support of the Albacete Research Institute of Informatics of the University of Castilla-La Mancha and the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at the King Abdulaziz University of Saudi Arabia.
This edition coincides with the first joint conference between the HCI communities of Spain and Mexico and the 4th Mexican Congress Interacción Humano-Computadora (MexIHC 2012), to be held the same days at The Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM). With this initiative, the organizers intend to join forces and establish partnerships.
All the sessions held locally in Spain and Mexico will be broadcasted via video through YouTube. Moreover, at the end of the plenary talk celebrated on Thursday, an exhibition of autonomous vehicle will be retransmitted.
The Spanish Association of Human-Computer Interaction (AIPO) will grant the Jesus Lorés award, as in previous editions, to the best work submitted to the conference and selected by the Program Committee of Interacción 2012. This edition will also provide an honorable mention diploma for the three best works presented.
This conference, promoted by the Spanish Association of Human-Computer Interaction (AIPO), is also sponsored by different organizations and institutions such as the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Elche City Council, the Science and Business Park of UMH, The Interaction Design Foundation and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), where the conference proceedings will be published in English.

Los investigadores han enviado a este congreso 81 trabajos en las distintas modalidades, de los cuales finalmente se presentarán 57 en las distintas especialidades dentro de la Interacción Persona-Ordenador (IPO), como la Evaluación de Sistemas Interactivos, los Interfaces de Usuario Distribuidas, las Redes Sociales, Interacción y Salud, Sistemas colaborativos, Accesibilidad a personas con discapacidad o Realidad virtual y aumentada
El congreso “Interacción 2012” está organizado por el Instituto Universitario de Investigación “Centro de Investigación Operativa” de la UMH y cuenta con el apoyo del Instituto de Investigación en Informática de Albacete de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha y de la Facultad de Informática y Tecnología de la Información de la Universidad King Abdulaziz de Arabia Saudí.
Esta edición de Interacción’12 coincide con la primera conferencia conjunta entre la comunidad IPO de España y la comunidad IPO de México y el IV Congreso Mexicano de Interacción Humano Computadora (MexIHC 2012), que se celebrará los mismos días en la sede del Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), México. Con esta iniciativa, los organizadores pretenden unir esfuerzos y establecer lazos de colaboración
Todas las conferencias celebradas localmente en España y en México se retransmitirán por videoconferencia vía YouTube. Al finalizar la conferencia plenaria del jueves, desde México se retransmitirá una exhibición de automóvil autónomo.
La Asociación Española de Interacción Persona-Ordenador (AIPO) entregará el Premio Jesús Lorés, como en años anteriores, al mejor trabajo presentado al Congreso, seleccionado por el Comité de Programa del Congreso Interacción 2012. En esta edición se entregará además un diploma de Mención Honorífica a los tres mejores artículos.
Este congreso, promovido por la Asociación Española de Interacción Persona-Ordenador (AIPO), cuenta en esta edición con el patrocinio y colaboración de varios organismos e instituciones como el Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad, el Ayuntamiento de Elche, el Parque Científico y Empresarial de la UMH, The Interaction Design Fundation y la Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
