The R-INLA package implements this methodology as a package for the R software for statistical computing. I will show how this methodology and software can be extended to fit a larger number of models and how to tackle other important issues such as missing values. I will show the application of these methods to several real datasets.<br \/>\n<strong>Breve Bio:<\/strong><br \/>\nVirgilio G\u00f3mez Rubio es Profesor Contratado Doctor del \u00e1rea de Estad\u00edstica e Investigaci\u00f3n Operativa y desarrolla su actividad docente e investigadora en la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, campus de Albacete. Ha desarrollado paquetes para el software estad\u00edstico R y es co-autor de un libro de an\u00e1lisis espacial de datos publicado por la editorial Springer que se encuentra entre sus libros m\u00e1s vendidos. Tambi\u00e9n ha publicado numerosos art\u00edculos en la materia en revistas de impacto y participa en diversos proyectos regionales y nacionales sobre an\u00e1lisis de datos geogr\u00e1ficos. He has developed software packages for statistical R and is co-author of a book on spatial data analysis published by the Springer publishing house that is among their bestsellers. He has also published numerous articles on the subject in impact journals and participates in several regional and national projects geor\u00e1ficos data analysis.
