Knox Lovell<br \/>\n<strong>Date:<\/strong> 11\/06\/2015 12:00 h<br \/>\n<strong>Lugar:<\/strong> Sala de Seminarios, Edificio Torretamarit<br \/>\n<strong>Resumen:<\/strong><br \/>\nLa conferencia aborda los problemas de la estimaci\u00f3n del cambio en la productividad a lo largo del tiempo de empresas y organizaciones, en general, tomadoras aut\u00f3nomas de decisiones. \u00c9ste es un problema recurrente en la literatura cient\u00edfica que presenta, como objetivo adicional, la necesidad de plantear formulaciones que permitan descomponer el cambio en la productividad en sus fuentes, como son el cambio tecnol\u00f3gico y el cambio en la eficiencia t\u00e9cnica. En este trabajo, el profesor Lovell asume un contexto te\u00f3rico en el cual existe un conjunto de insumos que se mantiene constante para el conjunto de observaciones de la muestra de empresas. En este caso, es posible demostrar la existencia de relaciones muy interesantes entre diversos \u00edndices bien conocidos en la literatura especializada.<br \/>\n<strong>Breve Bio:<\/strong><br \/>\nC.A.\u00a0Knox Lovell es profesor em\u00e9rito de la Universidad de Queensland en Brisbane (Australia). Ha ocupado a lo largo de su dilatada vida profesional diferentes puestos como profesor e investigador en universidades de tres continentes, ha sido investido doctor honoris causa en dos universidades europeas y ha publicado cientos de art\u00edculos, cap\u00edtulos de libro y libros sobre la medici\u00f3n de la eficiencia y la productividad.<!--:--><!--:en--><strong>Title<\/strong>: Productivity Measurement in Radial DEA Models with Multiple Constant Inputs<br \/>\n<strong>Speaker<\/strong>: C. We show that in this case the Malmquist and the Hicks-Moorsteen productivity indices coincide and are multiplicatively complete, the choice of orientation for the measurement of productivity change does not matter, and there is a unique decomposition of productivity change containing two independent sources, namely technical efficiency change and technical change. Technical change decomposes in an infinite number of ways into a radial magnitude effect and an output bias effect. We also show that the aggregate Malmquist productivity index is given by the geometric mean between any two periods of the simple arithmetic averages of the individual contemporaneous and mixed period distance functions.<br \/>\n<strong>Brief Bio<\/strong><br \/>\nC.A. Knox Lovell is Honorary Professor with the Centre for Efficiency and Productivity Analysis in the School of Economics at the University of Queensland. He has traveled widely, has held visiting positions at universities on three continents, and holds honorary doctorate degrees from two European universities. He served as Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Productivity Analysis for a decade.
