The Center of Operations Research (CIO) hosts from 3 to 5 October the \u00ab13th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction\u00bb (Interacci\u00f3n’12), to be held at The Science and Business Park, located in the Quorum I building of the Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez University of Elche (UMH). This meeting welcomes more than 60 researchers who will present works of 208 authors from 13 countries: Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Jordan, Mexico, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, United Kingdom, Venezuela and Spain.
\nResearchers have sent to this Conference 81 works in various modalities, and only 57 have been selected to be presented in the different specialties of Human Computer Interaction (HCI), such as Evaluation of Interactive Systems, Distributed User Interfaces, Social Networks, Health and Interaction, Collaborative Systems, Accessibility for people with disabilities or Virtual and Augmented Reality.
\nThe conference is organized by The University Research Institute \u201cCenter of Operations Research\u201d (CIO) and has the support of the Albacete Research Institute of Informatics of the University of Castilla-La Mancha and the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at the King Abdulaziz University of Saudi Arabia.
\nThis edition coincides with the first joint conference between the HCI communities of Spain and Mexico and the 4th Mexican Congress Interacci\u00f3n Humano-Computadora (MexIHC 2012), to be held the same days at The Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM). With this initiative, the organizers intend to join forces and establish partnerships.
\nAll the sessions held locally in Spain and Mexico will be broadcasted via video through YouTube. Moreover, at the end of the plenary talk celebrated on Thursday, an exhibition of autonomous vehicle will be retransmitted.
\nThe Spanish Association of Human-Computer Interaction (AIPO) will grant the Jesus Lor\u00e9s award, as in previous editions, to the best work submitted to the conference and selected by the Program Committee of Interacci\u00f3n 2012. This edition will also provide an honorable mention diploma for the three best works presented.
\nThis conference, promoted by the Spanish Association of Human-Computer Interaction (AIPO), is also sponsored by different organizations and institutions such as the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Elche City Council, the Science and Business Park of UMH, The Interaction Design Foundation and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), where the conference proceedings will be published in English.

\nLos investigadores han enviado a este congreso 81 trabajos en las distintas modalidades, de los cuales finalmente se presentar\u00e1n 57 en las distintas especialidades dentro de la Interacci\u00f3n Persona-Ordenador (IPO), como la Evaluaci\u00f3n de Sistemas Interactivos, los Interfaces de Usuario Distribuidas, las Redes Sociales, Interacci\u00f3n y Salud, Sistemas colaborativos, Accesibilidad a personas con discapacidad o Realidad virtual y aumentada
\nEl congreso \u201cInteracci\u00f3n 2012\u201d est\u00e1 organizado por el Instituto Universitario de Investigaci\u00f3n \u201cCentro de Investigaci\u00f3n Operativa\u201d de la UMH y cuenta con el apoyo del Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n en Inform\u00e1tica de Albacete de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha y de la Facultad de Inform\u00e1tica y Tecnolog\u00eda de la Informaci\u00f3n de la Universidad King Abdulaziz de Arabia Saud\u00ed.
\nEsta edici\u00f3n de Interacci\u00f3n\u201912 coincide con la primera conferencia conjunta entre la comunidad IPO de Espa\u00f1a y la comunidad IPO de M\u00e9xico y el IV Congreso Mexicano de Interacci\u00f3n Humano Computadora (MexIHC 2012), que se celebrar\u00e1 los mismos d\u00edas en la sede del Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico Aut\u00f3nomo de M\u00e9xico (ITAM), M\u00e9xico. Con esta iniciativa, los organizadores pretenden unir esfuerzos y establecer lazos de colaboraci\u00f3n
\nTodas las conferencias celebradas localmente en Espa\u00f1a y en M\u00e9xico se retransmitir\u00e1n por videoconferencia v\u00eda YouTube. Al finalizar la conferencia plenaria del jueves, desde M\u00e9xico se retransmitir\u00e1 una exhibici\u00f3n de autom\u00f3vil aut\u00f3nomo.
\nLa Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Interacci\u00f3n Persona-Ordenador (AIPO) entregar\u00e1 el Premio Jes\u00fas Lor\u00e9s, como en a\u00f1os anteriores, al mejor trabajo presentado al Congreso, seleccionado por el Comit\u00e9 de Programa del Congreso Interacci\u00f3n 2012. En esta edici\u00f3n se entregar\u00e1 adem\u00e1s un diploma de Menci\u00f3n Honor\u00edfica a los tres mejores art\u00edculos.
