Partiendo de la asunci\u00f3n de que las infraestructuras, con los costes de transporte entre las localizaciones, dirigen la accesibilidad econ\u00f3mica, se puede asumir un m\u00e9todo donde las redes de carreteras constituyen un conjunto de recursos que facilitan el acceso a los mercados como resultado. Originalmente y de manera metodol\u00f3gica, se miden los recursos en infraestructuras de la red real utilizada y se calculan una serie de indicadores de ubicaci\u00f3n y basados en la gravedad de la demanda final e intermedia, que capturan una gran variedad de transacciones econ\u00f3micas y representan diferentes conceptos de resultados econ\u00f3micos de accesibilidad. El valor a\u00f1adido del presente art\u00edculo recae en la traducci\u00f3n de un m\u00e9todo fronterizo no param\u00e9trico (DEA) en un enfoque din\u00e1mico (\u00edndices Malmquist) por medio de la conexi\u00f3n de la accesibilidad regional con la productividad de los recursos de las infraestructuras por carretera asociadas con cada regi\u00f3n. Los resultados entre 1995-2005 muestran una accesibilidad relativa baja de las regiones espa\u00f1olas NUTS-3, aunque se han dado unas mejoras considerables durante los pasados cinco a\u00f1os. Por \u00faltimo, se observa una relaci\u00f3n en forma de U invertida entre las ganancias por accesibilidad durante estos a\u00f1os y la localizaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica.<br \/>\n<strong>Breve Bio:<\/strong><br \/>\nJos\u00e9 L. Zof\u00edo es Catedr\u00e1tico de Econ\u00f3micas desde 2014. Obtuvo su doctorado en Econ\u00f3micas por la Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid en 2000. Sus campos de investigaci\u00f3n de inter\u00e9s se basan en la productividad y la eficiencia (an\u00e1lisis de fronteras estoc\u00e1sticas y an\u00e1lisis del contenido de la informaci\u00f3n, DEA), econom\u00eda espacial (teor\u00eda del nuevo comercio y teor\u00eda de la nueva geograf\u00eda econ\u00f3mica), organizaci\u00f3n industrial (normativas y pol\u00edtica de competencia), econom\u00eda medioambiental y copyright industrial. This paper is based on the assumption that infrastructure, through generalized transport costs between locations, drives economic accessibility and, therefore, we can assimilate a production function approach where the road network constitutes a set of inputs yielding access to markets as output.<br \/>\nMethodologically, we originally measure the infrastructure inputs accounting for the real used network and calculate a series of new final and intermediate demand gravity-based and locational indicators, which capture a wide range of economic transactions and represent different concepts of economic accessibility outputs. The value added of this paper is translating a non-parametric frontier approach (DEA) to a dynamic scope (Malmquist indices) by connecting the regional accessibility to the productivity of the road infrastructure inputs associated with each region. Results during 1995\u20132005 show a low relative accessibility of the Spanish NUTS-3 regions, although improvements have been greater over the last five years. Finally, we observe a U-inverted relationship between the accessibility gains during these years and the geographical localization.<br \/>\n<strong>Brief Bio:<\/strong><br \/>\nJos\u00e9 L. Zof\u00edo is Professor of Economics since 2014. He received his PhD in Economics from Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Madrid in 2000. His research fields of interest are Productivity and Efficiency (Stochastic Frontier Analysis and Data Envelopment Analysis), Spatial Economics (New Trade Theory and New Economic Geography), Industrial Organization (Competition Policy and Regulation), Environmental Economics and Copyright Industries. He has published many articles in international journals, led relevant research projects, and supervised several dissertations related to the above fields.
